Nature trails awarded as an „Official Project of the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development”

Invisible and interactive nature trails – future environmental education
Within the frame work of a nation wide pilot project World Habitat Society established the first “invisible” nature trails.
Two interactive trails have been developed in the Senne area, North Rhine-Westphalia. These trails can be accessed by pocket computers (PPC) and smartphones.
The regional web portal Senne-Portal is the online source for the information. One can virtually visit the trails and can download the software and data for the handheld devices. This part of the project is the so called pre-trip-planning.
